Shakespeare in the park
Comedy of Errors brings slapstick to outdoor theatre
Two sets of twins - separated at birth. You just know that's going to cause trouble somewhere down the line.
The Humber River Shakespear Co. presentation of  William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors provided just that - trouble, and of course a lot of laughs.
The touring company again this season turns out a stellar performace as they visit different venues in the region and beyond.
Staged in the open are at the Schomberg Fairgrounds, the story begins with the tale of a man who had twin boys. Through no fault of his own, the boys, and their servants - also twins - are separated at birth.
Fast forward a few years.
The boys grow up, one marries, with no knowledge of the other twin
.
That is until one of the twins and his servant happen to land in the same city the other twins already live in.
From there, it's chaos.
In case you haven't seen this particular play before, we won't give away too much of what happens. Other than to say, meeting up with your twin's wife - who thinks she's married to you - can make for an interesting turn of events.
Directed by Kevin Hammond, this version of the Shakespeare tale is set in,, well, it's kind of hard to really figure out a true time in history, but it doesn't really matter.
The characters are flawlessly portrayed and the comic timing in the production really is superb.
The cast features Zain Kassam, Christopher Kelk, Andrew Knowlton, Sara Moyle, Paula Schultz, Neil Silcox, Lindsay Sippel Eitzen, Jonathan Widdifield, and Eric Woolfe.

There is still pleny of time to see this production with several venues only a few minutes drive from New Tecuseth.
Admission is by donation. (suggested $15) and well worth the price for an evening of quality theatre and entertainment.
