Art Unique celebrates seven years
Artists, Ruth Draper, Jennifer Gauci, Mo Bayliss, and Jenni Murrell at the
seventh anniversary celebration of Art Unique.

It is an astounding array of original works that give the Art Unique gallery its distinctive place in the Ontario art scene.
Just north of the village of Cookstown on Highway 27, Art Unique currently has 20 artist on exhibit - each with a different perspective, style, and talent, making the gallery a gem of creative works in different mediums.
The gallery recently celebrated it's seventh year with a reception that included guests, artists, and dignitaries from the town of Innisfil.
Originally the gallery was situated right in the village, but moved to its current location four years ago.
Owner, artist, and curator, Ruth Draper, personally over-sees the gallery and the selection process.
"This is the seventh anniversay of the gallery," she explains while guests mingle and peruse the exhibits. "We were on Queen Street in Cookstown and have been in this location for four years. We had the mayor, (Barb Baguley) deputy mayor, (Dan Davidson) and local councillor Bill Lougheed, who is representing the Town of Innisfil on the Arts Council, visit today for the reception."

The gallery was presented with a plaque from the South Simcoe Arts Council recognizing long standing commitment to the arts.
In all there are hundreds of works on display.
Everything from oils, acrylics, pastels, and pencil drawings, to a wide assortment of hand crafted jewellery and pottery.
The gallery has achieved quite a reputation and recieves visitors from around the region and beyond. Many people routinely stop in to see what is new and make a special stop when searching for something special such as a wedding or anniversary gift.
The fact that the gallery is still going strong after seven years is a good indicator of the quality of work on display. Most of the works are by local artists and the Cookstown area in particular is widely known for having an abundance of creative people - either those from the region or those that have moved there because of the towns reputation as a place for artists.
We've included a few of the works in the gallery on this page, but the best idea is to drop in for yourself and see the exhibits.
