The Beeton-Tottenham Business Improvement Association (BTBIA) is pleased to announce two new initiatives planned for Beeton and Tottenham.
Brenda Horan BTBIA Chair said, “This summer, weekends in Beeton and Tottenham will host markets for the enjoyment of locals and tourists alike. “
Beeton will host the ‘Beeton Bargain Bazaar’ that will run on the last Saturday from July to October inclusive.
The Bazaar will offer a treasure chest of discoveries waiting for diehard market-goers to find. The focus of this market will be diverse - a little bit of something for everyone.” said Jackie Keiser.  The location of the Bazaar will be announced shortly and the dates are July 30, August 27, September 24 and October 29 from 8am to 1pm.
Tottenham will boast the ‘Tottenham Outdoor Market’ on Sundays from 9am to noon in July and August. The Tottenham Market will be held on Mill Street West on the green space beside the municipal parking lot.
Horan said, “The cost to become a vendor was set very low so as to make it attractive and attainable for all. The goal is that the market will feature locally grown produce, baked goods and hand made items. Enquiries have already come in from a local baker (mmm can’t you taste it now) and florist (mmm can’t you smell it now) who are keen to become a part of this local opportunity. It is our goal to offer vendor spots first to local entrepreneurs.”
The cost to the BTBIA to execute the markets is minimal, as use of space has been donated by Bo Niederhuber in Tottenham and the soon to be announced location for the Beeton Bargain Bazaar will also likely be free of charge. Expenses are anticipated to be for printing flyers and signage for advertising purposes.
The BTBIA represents local businesses and their mandate is “marketing and beautification.” They host numerous events that bring people into the downtowns of Beeton and Tottenham so they can discover or rediscover what merchants and services are here. It is the BTBIA that organized the banners that make our downtowns colourful throughout the year. The BTBIA organizes events that are becoming increasingly well known such as Flavours in the Field, Frightfully Fun Family Event and their next Easter event EGGcellent Adventures in Beeton & Tottenham being held on April 23rd.
