Melissa Etheridge at Casino Rama
Singer-songwriter, Melissa Etheridge performed to a sold out crowd at Casino Rama on Friday, August 19.
She opened with "Fearless Love" and that was her theme for the evening.
In between songs she told the crowd a bit of her secrets to happiness. She told the crowd that she was now cancer free for 7 years and then sang her anthem "I Run for Life".
The crowd gave her a standing ovation for this moving tribute to people fighting cancer.
She got back to the fun after that with her hit songs,
"Come To My Window",I'm the Only One and "Like the Way I do". It was a really fun and energetic show.
Her guitarist Peter Thorn from Edmonton had a solo where Melissa would sing some notes and he would mimmick
them exactly on the guitar and then they performed a solo together on one guitar.
He played with both hands on the neck of the guitar and
she was behind him using both of her hands to play the same guitar at the same time without being able to see what she was doing.
A lot of the fans came up from Toronto to see her and she promised she would be back soon.
She loves Canada and mentioned that she would have loved a
chance to stop and do some fishing here.
She was off right after the show, playing in Salt Lake City Utah the following night..
She said Rock n' Roll life is not always as glamourous as it seems.
