South Simcoe Palette Club
Inspirations in Colour show and sale exhibits local talent
The best way to really appreciate art, is to actually be motivated to get out there and enjoy it.
That`s why exhibitions such as Inspirations in Colour create the opportunity to not only see local artist`s work, it provides the chance to meet and talk with the creators of a wide array of inspired work.
The Inspirations in Colour was the fall show of the South Simcoe Palette Club - a group of
more than twenty artists who meet and paint on a regular basis.
The fall show was held at the Cookstown Branch of the Innisfil Public Library and had 52
paintings on display. Opening on November 23, the exhibit ran through the week and closed
with a final afternoon reception on Saturday, November 27.
There were as many styles and visions on canvas as there were artists with works in oil,
acrylic and watercolour and nineteen artists having their work on display.

Althought the group regularly has some of their work on display at various locations, the fall exhibit is a perfect way to not only showcase their work, it serves to educate the public as well.
``The exhibit is to show what the group has been doing and create public awareness, `` says current club president Cynthia Foster, ``and to get new artists to join us. We have members from beginners to seasoned artists.``
The group is planning more shows in the coming year and have had successful exhibits at several different locations in the past.
Some of the artwork from the Inspirations exhibit is shown on this page - but it is only a sample of the creative talent that flows from the group.
The South Simcoe Palette Club meets on Tuesday`s and is always looking for new
members who would like to share their common interest in the arts.
